Tulip Tree (Liriodendron tulipifera), also known as Yellow Poplar or Tulip Poplar, is a large deciduous tree native to eastern North America. It can grow up to 60-90 feet tall, with a straight trunk and a narrow, pyramidal crown when young that broadens with age. The tree is named for its distinctive tulip-shaped flowers, which are yellow with an orange band at the base of each petal and bloom in late spring. Its leaves are unique, with a four-lobed shape and bright green color that turns golden yellow in fall. The Tulip Tree prefers deep, moist, well-drained soils and full sun. It's valued for its fast growth, ornamental flowers, and quality timber.
