'Spring Fever Red' Iceland Poppy is a brilliantly colored cool-season perennial or biennial producing large, silky, tissue-paper-like flowers in vivid scarlet red on tall, graceful stems from winter through spring. The flowers are among the most luminous and eye-catching available in any cool-season plant, glowing brilliantly in the low winter and spring light. Growing 12 to 18 inches tall with delicate, ferny foliage, Spring Fever Red Iceland Poppy performs best in the cool temperatures of spring and fall, often going dormant during summer heat. It thrives in full sun and well-drained, fertile soil and is excellent for spring color in borders, cutting gardens, and mixed plantings with spring bulbs. Its extraordinary, luminous red color and elegant flower form make it one of the most spectacular cool-season bloomers.
