Goshiki Osmanthus is a remarkable broadleaf evergreen shrub prized for its extraordinary, multicolored variegated foliage that displays an intricate mosaic of cream, pink, green, and copper tones — the name 'Goshiki' means 'five colors' in Japanese, a nod to its astonishing leaf palette. New growth emerges with the most vivid pinkish-copper tones, gradually transitioning through cream and chartreuse to mature green, with each stage of growth visible simultaneously on the plant. Growing 4 to 6 feet tall with holly-like, spiny leaves, Goshiki also produces small, intensely fragrant white flowers in fall that fill the surrounding air with a sweet apricot-like scent. It thrives in partial shade to full sun and well-drained soil. Its extraordinary foliage coloration and autumn fragrance make it one of the most ornamentally interesting evergreen shrubs available.
