Eye Shadow Phlox is a striking creeping phlox cultivar that produces an eye-catching floral display of soft white to pale pink flowers, each accented with a bold, contrasting purple-violet eye at the center — the characteristic that gives this cultivar its memorable name. Growing 4 to 6 inches tall and spreading 12 to 18 inches wide, this dense, mat-forming perennial becomes completely smothered in blooms in early to mid-spring, creating a spectacular ground-level display. The needle-like evergreen foliage remains attractive year-round, providing continuous texture even between bloom seasons. Eye Shadow Phlox thrives in full sun and very well-drained soil, including rocky banks and slopes where drainage is excellent. Its distinctive bicolor blooms and reliable ground-covering habit make it an exceptional rock garden and edging plant.
