Blue Rug Juniper is one of the flattest and most ground-hugging of all creeping junipers, forming a dense, silvery-blue carpet just 4 to 6 inches tall while spreading 6 to 8 feet wide. Its exceptional, intense blue-silver foliage color deepens to a striking plum-purple in winter, providing year-round interest that few ground covers can match. Blue Rug is remarkably tough and adaptable, thriving in full sun and virtually any well-drained soil, including rocky, sandy, and poor soils where other plants refuse to grow. It is highly drought-tolerant, deer-resistant, and requires virtually no maintenance once established, making it one of the most reliable ground cover options available. Excellent for slopes, rocky banks, and large areas where a low, spreading evergreen blanket of color is desired.
